Fresh Compound Butter
Butter is one of the most useful ingredients in any kitchen! Plain butter is an excellent partner for toast and pancakes, but compound butter increases the flavor profile! I use compound butter with most meals, whether it’s a sweet cinnamon and honey butter, to the use of unique spices such as cayenne pepper, small diced chilis and herbs such as rosemary and basil.
Ingredients
1 lb unsalted butter
1 tsp minced Thai basil
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp sea salt
Directions
Using unsalted butter, you can control the salt content in this recipe. Take slightly softened butter and mix in ingredients. Once fully mixed, place ingredients on a sheet of wax paper, roll the wax paper into a cylinder folding ends, place in refrigerator until ready to serve.
